Mystified about geothermal energy?  Are you a system owner and your electric bills higher than they should be?  Do you wonder whether your system is performing well?   Learn more about the fundamentals of your system and, more importantly, how to properly maintain it.

  • 8AM to Noon    Part 1 – Introduction to Geothermal
  • 1PM to 4:30PM Part 2 – Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Where: The Mosaic Centre – 2003 91 Street SW, Edmonton, Alberta

Who Should Attend: Anyone who wants to learn more about geothermal heating and cooling and/or owns and operates a geothermal system as well as anyone considering a geothermal system that wants to understand their operation.

Part 1 will provide: A general understanding of geothermal system fundamentals.
Part 2 will provide: The required knowledge to operate and maintain your system, to increase its efficiency and longevity and the skills required to troubleshoot and repair a system that is not performing at full capacity.

The Instructor
Thomas Barr is the project manager for NuEnergy Mechanical Services.  He is a standing board member on the Alberta Geothermal Energy Association and IGSPHA Canada.  Thomas has been working the Geothermal Industry since 2006 designing, installing, and maintaining them for both residential and commercial applications.

The Venue
The Mosaic Centre is the most northern net zero commercial building in the world. The building is heated and cooled by a geothermal system and passive solar design. A tour of a working geothermal system equipment room will be included as part of the seminar.
