Wednesday, September 20, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Patrick Bateman, Director of Policy and Market Development, Canadian Solar Industries Association
Evan Wilson Regional Director, Prairies, Canadian Wind Energy Association

SESA’s 2017/2018 Seminar Series kicks off with an update of how renewable electricity is progressing globally, nationally and in Alberta during the past twelve months with presentations by policy experts from Canada’s renewable energy industry.  Alberta’s renewable electricity transition was set in stone one year ago, September 2016, when it was announced that a target would be legislated for 30% of the province’s electricity to be from renewable sources by 2030.

What have we accomplished in the past year? What is the path forward? Patrick Bateman, and Evan Wilson have been in regular consultation with the Alberta government as it has developed and launched its ambitious plans.  Patrick and Evan will explore key topics such as cost-effectiveness and reliability of renewable electricity in addition to progress on the various policy pathways that the province has embarked on to green the grid.
