This chapter of the Solar Energy Society of
Canada is located in Edmonton Alberta Canada (Latitude 53.3° N -
Longtitude 113.6° W). We enjoy (endure) a climate with temperatures
ranging from -30 to +30 degrees Celsius with moderate precipitation and
low humidity. In order to provide useful information to our membership,
we tend to focus on suppliers and resources which apply to our climate
and local area (Western Canada).
In order to supply a useful list of suppliers, we tend to list
suppliers from Western Canada only, unless a supplier provides unique
equipment or service which is not available locally (again local is
Western Canada). We try to list suppliers that we have some experience
with in order to effectively evaluate them.
Many of the suppliers on the following lists are members of the
society and devote time to educating the public as well as making a
living providing solar alternatives. Suppliers, Designers and
Contractors

Made-in-Alberta Video Series
Made-in-Alberta is an innovative video series designed for
Alberta-wide broadcast on community television. In a weekly series of
six-minute shorts, Made-in-Alberta documents Albertans responding
positively to global economic, environmental and climatic changes. Some
of the Albertans we will introduce are doing world-class research in
these areas. Others are dedicated to creating a level playing field for
new technologies. Most importantly, we will tell the stories of
Albertans who are making renewable energy and resource conservation
projects happen right here at home.
These videos are being aired by Shaw TV, channel 10 and are also
available on line at:
