The Solar Energy Society of Alberta, with the help of the German Embassy and the Pembina Institute, is bringing the internationally renowned authority on renewable energy policy, Dr. Christine Worlen to Alberta.

Germany’s renewable energy policies are considered the gold standard for how to quickly and cost-effectively make the transition to sustainability. After fifteen years leading the world in renewable energy development, Germany has something to say. With hundreds of thousands of green jobs, a robust renewable energy export economy, a successful community- owned distributed generation system, a plan to phase out coal and nuclear electric power generation completely; we in Alberta can learn a lot from examining the trail that Germany has blazed. Germany has accomplished all of these great achievements with a solar resource that is 2/3 the size of Alberta’s.
