Training for the Alberta's Solar Future

Dr. Jim Sandercock - Chair of the NAIT Alternative Energy Technology Program will present on NAIT's new program and the plans for the future.
Come early for a guided tour of the NAIT Alternative Energy Technology Lab.
NAIT has just completed the first year of its ambitious renewable energy technologist training program. With a 5:1 applicant/student ratio this popular program has a great future. Dr. Sandercock will be explaining the how it has been working and where NAIT hopes to take it. He will also introduce the recently installed City of Edmonton Photovoltaic Reference System now on the roof of NAIT’s South Learning Centre.

The Solar Energy Society will be offering two weekend classes. PV 1 will cover an overview of on-grid and off-grid PV technology, the economics of PV systems, computer programs for PV design, and the PV industry in general. PV 2 is for those who have taken PV 2 and will cover design and installation parameters based on the new 2012 CEC Sections 50 and 64. Both of these classes will take place at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Registration is now open.

On Saturday, June 9th from noon until 4 pm, 12 of Edmonton’s best energy-efficient ans solar homes will be open for tours. Three of the homes on this year’s tour generate more energy than they use in a year ... and there will also be many other exciting technologies on display. Edmonton's Eco Solar Commercial Tour
June 4-8, 2012
Constructing an energy efficient building isn’t some idea for the future – people are building them now in Edmonton. During environment week comsee how energy efficiency is catching on right here in our City.
